This hand painted tile is by Irene Awret (1921-2014) , who was a Holocaust survivor of the German concentration camp Mechelen.  Details of her life are available online.  This tile depicts seated young female in multi-color garments playing a double flute beneath a tree with boteh on left and multi-colored bird on right,  against cream-colored background.  Dimensions:  14-3/4"h x 10-1/8"w.  Tile is in a molded wood frame.
